Getting medical treatment

If you or someone you care about has experienced domestic abuse, it’s important to get medical help, for both physical injuries and emotional wellbeing. You need and deserve care and support.

When to seek medical help

You may need medical support if:

  • You’ve been physically hurt
  • You’re in pain, even if you can’t see an injury
  • You feel emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, or low
  • You’ve experienced sexual abuse or assault

You don’t have to wait until it’s serious. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s okay to ask for help.
