Jane Firmin – Our Tribute
The trustee board and staff team at Women’s Aid in Luton were deeply saddened by the sudden death of our Chief Executive, Jane Firmin. Hundreds of women and children have been saved from domestic violence and give valuable support during Jane’s time leading the organisation. We are grateful for the care and dedication she gave throughout her career with us. She will be greatly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time.
Jane worked for Women’s Aid in Luton for over 12 years, starting in an administrative capacity and rising through the organisation, taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2015. Jane championed support and services for women and children who experienced domestic abuse in Luton, including those with complex needs. She enhanced and expanded services during her time with the organisation.
Jane’s passionate and positive approach and her professional commitment to sustainable change were greatly admired by her colleagues and those who worked alongside her. Jane’s work, through Women’s Aid in Luton, has made a life changing difference to many women and children over the years.
Jane died on 13th November 2020 following a short illness. She is survived by her partner Les and their four children.
